Periodontics & Oral Implantology

The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology at the Kalka Dental College, Meerut offers a three-year Postgraduate Residency Program (Master's of Dental Surgery Degree) awarded by the C.C.S. University, Meerut till the 2020 Batch and 2021 onwards both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow (UP State Medical University). The advanced training program in Periodontics is approved and recognized by the Ministry of Health and family welfare and accredited by the Dental Council of India.

Department Faculty

Is to render the basic and advanced education in Periodontics for an improved understanding of Periodontal tissues, Peri-implant tissue in health and disease and increased their skills not only regarding the management of the same but at the same time to educate their patients on how to prevent the Periodontal and Peri-implant disease occurrence.

Departmental Mission

• 1. Is to Boost the knowledge of undergraduates in dentistry so, that the students should achieve academic excellence, provide the best oral health care, and engage in research, scholarship, and create awareness among the masses on how to improve overall Oral, Periodontal and Peri-Implant health in highly diverse populations.
• 2. Is to foster the development of Resident doctors in the Specialty of Periodontology and Oral Implantology for their future careers as Periodontists as well as Oral Implantologist by enriching their knowledge through expertise faculty directions, services and training in all aspects in the subject of Hard tissue regeneration, Periodontal Plastic Surgical procedures, Implant surgeries, Management of implant-associated complications, Role of a periodontist in interdisciplinary esthetic surgical procedures, regarding the role of lasers in periodontal, implant procedures and many more.

The department is well equipped with advanced surgical equipment such as Piezo-Surgical units, Implant surgical kit with Physio-dispenser, Surgical Microscope, Magnification Loops, implant maintenance kit, Sinus lift kit, diode lasers 980nm and 810nm, electrocautery etc.
