Dr. Mohd Salman Akhtar is a distinguished Specialist Endodontist and innovator currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Kalka Dental College, Meerut. With over six years of post-MDS teaching experience and a career spanning more than a decade in clinical dentistry, Dr. Akhtar has established himself as a prominent academician and researcher. His academic journey began with a BSc in Botany from Aligarh Muslim University (2007), followed by a BDS (2012) and an MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (2017) from Kothiwal Dental College and Research Centre, Moradabad. Prior to his current appointment at Kalka Dental College, he held significant faculty positions at Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College and Kothiwal Dental College, consistently contributing to the mentorship of dental graduates and specialists.

A visionary in dental technology, Dr. Akhtar holds two Government of India patents for the development of the Universal Gutta Percha Cutter (2021) and the Universal Gutta Percha Condenser (2023), reflecting his commitment to enhancing endodontic procedural efficiency. His research portfolio is equally extensive, with over 13 publications in prestigious national and international journals. Notably, his recent work in 2024, published in the PubMed-indexed journal Cureus, includes comparative analyses of retreatment file systems and the radiopacity evaluation of calcium silicate-based materials. Furthermore, he has authored three international books published by Lambert, Germany, solidifying his role as a contributor to global dental literature.

Dr. Akhtar is a recognized leader within professional dental circles, currently serving as a Representative to the UP State Executive Committee for the Indian Dental Association (IDA). His administrative and organizational expertise is evidenced by his roles as the Organizing Chairman for the IDA UP State CDE and Chairman of the Trade Exhibition Committee for the 44th IDA UP State Conference. A life member of the Indian Endodontic Society and a member of the Indian Initiative for Management of Antibiotic Resistance (IIMAR), he remains at the forefront of clinical ethics and evidence-based practice.

With a background that integrates botanical science, advanced endodontics, and medical engineering, Dr. Akhtar brings a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to his work at Kalka Dental College.
