The MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program is committed to producing confident, competent, and compassionate maxillofacial surgeons who combine surgical expertise, scientific knowledge, and patient-centered care to manage complex oral and facial conditions effectively.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programme shall be strictly in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Dental Council of India and the guidelines issued by the Government of India from time to time. Candidates seeking admission to the MDS programme must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification The applicant must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree awarded by a university or institute recognized by the Dental Council of India. The degree must be duly registered with the State Dental Council or the Dental Council of India.

Candidates who have obtained their BDS qualification from a foreign institution must ensure that their degree is recognized by the Dental Council of India and the Government of India.

Compulsory Rotatory Internship
The candidate must have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship in a DCI-recognized dental institution on or before the date specified by the competent authority for the respective academic session.

Registration
The applicant must possess provisional or permanent registration with the State Dental Council or the Dental Council of India at the time of admission.

Entrance Examination
Admission to the MDS programme is based on qualification in the NEET-MDS (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – MDS) conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying percentile as prescribed for their respective category.

Minimum Qualifying Percentile
The minimum qualifying percentile in NEET-MDS shall be as prescribed by the competent authority for the respective academic year (typically 50th percentile for General category and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC categories, subject to revision by the Government of India).

Medical Fitness The candidate must be medically fit and produce a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner at the time of admission.
